FC Pro competitions are coming back in Football Club 25. Learn more about the new edition of FC Pro Open, Cups, and World Championship.
FC Pro Season 2 Overview
In the inaugural season, FC Pro established the foundation for the future of football esports, drawing an impressive audience of over 100,000 viewers at any given time during FC Pro Open events. The engagement was phenomenal, with millions of views and interactions across major platforms such as Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and what was formerly known as Twitter.
As FC Pro enters its second season, the focus is on refinement rather than reinvention. Consistency year over year is crucial for sustainable growth, so while much will remain familiar, significant improvements and changes have been made based on key learnings.
Path to the FC Pro World Championship
One of the top requests from players was for more opportunities to progress toward the FC Pro World Championship Play-Ins, even if they missed out on advancing in the FC Pro Open. Responding to this, the upcoming season will feature additional FC Pro Open Cups in November, December, and January as an alternate route to the World Championship, details of which will be outlined in the pitch notes.
FC Pro Open Returns
The FC Pro Open returns with a global competition that runs from the game’s launch until early February, bringing together the best veteran and rookie players worldwide. The tournament will offer a prize pool of $1,000,000, spread across the FC Pro Open, Global Qualifier, and Cups. This season, the FC Pro Open will expand to include 24 players, with the competition beginning in the FC Pro Open Ladder. Players will compete head-to-head in the Regional Qualifiers, and those who advance through these online stages will be invited to the first broadcast event of the year, the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier.
Returning Players and Invitations
Several top players from last season have already secured their spots in this season’s FC Pro Open, either by their performance in the previous FC Pro Open or the FC Pro World Championship. Notably, players like PHzin, Vejrgang, Emre Yilmaz, and Levi de Weerd have been invited back due to their high rankings. Due to Vejrgang qualifying through multiple avenues, an additional spot will be available at the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier.
FC Pro Open Ladder and Regional Qualifiers
Registration for the new season will open in September, with players needing to reach Division 3 of Ultimate Team Rivals on PlayStation 5 to access the FC Pro game mode. The FC Pro Open Ladder, running from October 1st to October 7th, 2024, will serve as the initial stage of the competition. Top players from each region will move on to the FC Pro Open Regional Qualifier, where they will compete in a swiss stage followed by a double-elimination knockout to earn a spot in the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier.
FC Pro Open Global Qualifier
Scheduled for November 1st to 3rd, 2024, the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier will see 64 top players from around the world compete in person for the chance to participate in the FC Pro Open regular season. The competition will start with a swiss stage, followed by knockout rounds. The top 16 players will advance to the FC Pro Open.
FC Pro Open Regular Season
The FC Pro Open regular season will commence on November 25th, 2024, with weekly broadcasts every Monday at 6:00 PM UTC. The competition will feature 24 players split into four groups of six, with each group playing a double round-robin format. The top performers will secure spots in the single-elimination Championship, with the best players earning a place in the FC Pro World Championship.
FC Pro Open Cups
To address feedback from last season, this year’s schedule includes an additional FC Pro Open Cup, providing more opportunities for players to compete for a spot in the FC Pro World Championship Play-Ins. The Cups will follow a similar format to the Regional Qualifiers, with points awarded based on performance.
FC Pro World Championship
The FC Pro World Championship will kick off with the Play-Ins, featuring players from select FC Pro League competitions and the FC Pro Open Cups. The top players will advance to the main event, where they will compete for the title of World Champion and a share of the $1,000,000 prize pool.
