Electronic Arts unveiled superstars Manchester City‘s Erling Haaland as cover athlete for EA Sports Football Club 24.

On July 13, 2023, Electronic Arts unveiled its first product under the new EA Sports brand: The EA Sports FC 24. During a global event in Amsterdam, the cover star was unveiled to be Erling Haaland, the striker from Manchester City. He made a surprise appearance alongside other soccer legends like Didier Drogba, Luis Figo, Laura Georges, Alex Scott, and more. The announcements covered a range of topics, including the introduction of three new advanced technologies that utilize real match data to enhance the realism of in-game play. Additionally, a groundbreaking development was revealed, bringing male and female footballers together onto the same pitch in a historic first for Ultimate Team.
During the event, Erling Haaland, the striker from Manchester City and Norway, was revealed as the cover star for EA SPORTS FC™ 24. Following Haaland’s remarkable season with Manchester City, where he achieved a historic treble and set a new Premier League record for goals scored, he emerged as the perfect candidate to usher in a new era for EA SPORTS. Throughout EA Sports’s extensive history, their cover stars have consistently represented the pinnacle of football talent both on and off the virtual field. Haaland’s exceptional qualities in finishing, positioning, and physicality further exemplify this tradition.

For the Standard Edition, the cover features Haaland shooting a ball in an UCL match. In the Ultimate Edition, 30 other footballers and legends join him in a group photo.
